
Aleks joined the Research and Policy Department at JRF in 2011. Her work has a statistical focus and is cross cutting across all of our themes: Poverty, Place, and Ageing Society. Aleks manages several JRF programmes including Monitoring Poverty and Social Exclusion (MoPSE) and The Outlook for Living Standards and Poverty in Later Life.
Prior to joining JRF, Aleks worked for NatCen as a Senior Researcher Analyst working with the Longitudinal Study of Young People in England (LSYPE), the English Longitudinal Study of Ageing (ELSA), Understanding Society (USOC) and the Millennium Cohort Study (MCS). Before this she worked for ONS in the areas of child health, medical research, ethnicity, migration, Census 2011 questionnaire development, Census Analysis, the ONS Longitudinal Study (ONS LS) and as an author of Social Trends.
She has an MSc in Demography and Health from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine and her background is in social research and analysis for academic institutions, government organisations and NGOs both in the UK and in Vanuatu.
