John is a member of our Place team and his work focuses on neighbourhoods, neighbourhood regeneration, deprived neigbourhoods and community empowerment.
Profile
John's current areas of work include:
- Bradford 'Working in Neigbourhoods' project which brings neighbourhood practitioners from a variety of sectors together in an action learning network over 18 months;
- The Sustainable Urban Neighbourhoods Network, hosted by JRF in partenership witrh URBED, for developers creating new urban fringe communities;
- A series of projects commissioned on the theme of communities in recession.
Previously John worked on community development project work in Sudan and Somalia (with Oxfam and Euro Action Acord respectively) and community development work in Leeds (with both the City Council and the voluntary sector).
