Ann was appointed as a Trustee in 2001. Educated in Reading and at Girton College, Cambridge, Ann had a distinguished career with the Civil Service. She worked with the National Assistance Board, Ministry of Social Security, the Department of Health, as First Civil Service Commissioner and with the Department of Social Security as Permanent Secretary from 1995 to 1999.

Ann is the Chair of the Poverty Strategy Group; Chair of the Public Interest in Poverty Issues advisory group and a member of the JRHT Board, Derwenthorpe Partnership Advisory Committee and Nominations Committee.
