Do you want to understand the causes of social problems and identify ways of overcoming them? Do you want to influence policy and practice based on strong and independent evidence? Are you passionate about research – and even more passionate about making a difference in the UK?

We are seeking a new Programme Manager within our poverty team to:

  • Lead the programme on A minimum income standard for the UK.
  • Contribute to a planned new programme aiming to develop a strategy to end poverty in the UK
  • Develop original areas of policy and research within the poverty theme.

With relevant and broad experience of using research and other evidence to inform policy and/or practice development, and a proven track record in project management, you will work collaboratively and creatively with a wide range of people to deliver high quality programmes of work and to inform and influence policy and practice across the UK.

You will have excellent communication and analytical skills, together with the ability to build relationships with a wide range of people at all levels. You will be able to work pro-actively to deliver against the organisation’s strategic objectives.

The post is based in York or London and involves considerable travel within the UK. London-based posts will need to work at the JRF offices in York for at least two days every week.
