New research and 'practice learning' in housing with care.
At this event, JRF launched a new research about Hartfields Retirement Village and extra care provision more generally. You can listen to the audio by downloading the MP3 file (right). The slides of the presentations are also available by following the links below.
Hartfields Retirement Village is based on the concept of 'extra care', and is designed to enable older people to remain in their own homes with support and well-being services available if needed.
The event examined lessons learned from creating a scheme like Hartfields, and the development of friendships, activity, social interaction and well-being in new extra care schemes. Some expert views informing our new programme of work, A Better Life, were also be presented.
Speakers included:
- Karen Croucher - Centre for Housing Policy, University of York;
- Lisa Callaghan - Personal Social Services Research Unit, University of Kent; and
- Philippa Hare - Programme Manager, JRF.
