About the event
The second Joseph Rowntree Foundation lecture, co-hosted with the University of York, was held on Thursday 12 March 2009.
The lecture, entitled Basic income and social justice: Why philosophers disagree, was presented by Philippe van Parijs from the Universite Catholique de Louvain, Belgium, followed by a response from Sir Tony Atkinson, Nuffield College, Oxford. There were questions and discussion afterwards.
