About the event

UK Dementia Congress

30 October to 1 November, Hilton Brighton Metropole

JRF will be taking part in this year’s UK Dementia Congress which is one of the largest dementia focused events in Europe.  This year the congress will focus on the challenge of improving services in the context of structural changes and economic constraints and will feature a mix of plenary sessions, parallel sessions, workshops, symposia, satellite special interest sessions, a grand debate, networking opportunities, an exhibition and the National Dementia awards.

JRF will run a workshop on the 1 November, 9.15am to 10.25am which will discuss findings from the research report Dementia without walls from the JRF Dementia and Society programme.  The research explored current experiences, future needs and aspirations of people living with dementia in the City of York, building the foundations for York to become a dementia-friendly city.  The workshop will explore how the JRF project was carried out, who was involved, what we have learnt, and how the work will be continued.  We will invite delegates to share their ideas and to reflect on the relevance of our projects to their work in improving quality of life for and with people who are living with dementia.

JRF will also be exhibiting on stand 48 for three days.
