McCormick: JRF’s new Scotland Adviser
Independent analyst and public policy commentator Jim McCormick (formerly Director of the Scottish Council Foundation think-tank) has been appointed as the new Scotland Adviser to the Joseph Rowntree Foundation (JRF).
Jim McCormick’s role will be to advise the JRF on policy and practice developments in Scotland. Based in Glasgow, he will be responsible for enhancing the JRF’s networks across the country. He will help the Foundation identify the most pressing areas in need of new research as well as find outstanding examples of demonstrable good practice that could be replicated elsewhere.
Jim McCormick is an adviser to the Scottish Council Foundation and a Trustee of the National Extension College. Before moving back to Scotland in 1997, he worked for the Institute for Public Policy Research (ippr) on devolution, financial inclusion and the Commission on Social Justice. He has written widely for a range of publications, is a regular contributor to Scottish Television’s Politics Now programme and has been listed among the 100 most influential people in Scotland.
