Accommodation for older people with mental health problems

A significant number of older people have a serious mental health problem which is not a form of dementia related to their age. Many are accommodated in long-stay psychiatric wards and homeless persons hostels.

An exploratory study based in Edinburgh finds that few community care plans consider the special needs of this group or how they might be provided with more suitable housing.
