The supply of accommodation and support for ex-offenders is outstripped bydemand. Research by the University of Stirling found that supported accommodation projects in the Grampian area of Scotland provide an important breathing space for ex-offenders but are not always fully effective in helping people to establish and maintain independent lives in the community.
