Unlocking key working: An analysis and evaluation of key worker services for families with disabled children

Suzanne Mukherjee, Bryony Beresford and Patricia Sloper

9 December 1999

Parents, researchers, practitioners and policy makers have all identified the need for key worker services for families with a disabled child. This report is based on a project in which multi-agency key worker services were planned, developed and implemented in two local areas. It provides a unique insight into how, and how not, to go about establishing such services. A companion volume, Real change not rhetoric, describes the innovative approach the project took to getting research findings translated into practice on the ground.
