TRAVELLING BY TRAIN

York is on the East Coast Mainline approximately halfway between London King’s Cross and Edinburgh. The Homestead is a short taxi ride or 20-minute walk from York Station.

A1 TRAVELLING NORTH

Leave the A1 on the A64 towards York. Turn onto the A1237 outer ring road signposted York (North). Continue until the A19 roundabout, and turn off right towards York (central). After approximately 1.5 miles you will reach a set of lights. Turn right onto Water End. The gates to the Homestead are on the right, just past the pedestrian crossing. 

A1 TRAVELLING SOUTH

Leave the A1 on the A59 towards York and continue until you reach the A1237 York outer ring road. Turn left at the roundabout and continue until the A19 roundabout, then follow the instructions above. 

TRAVELLING FROM ANY OTHER DIRECTION

Head for the A1237 and follow the instructions above.

Directions

BY TRAIN

The JRF London office is situated near to Vauxhall railway, underground and bus stations.

Trains to Vauxhall run frequently from Waterloo mainline station in London (journey time about five minutes) with connections to Clapham Junction and other stations to the south-west of London. Vauxhall underground station is on the Victoria line, with direct trains to Victoria, Euston and King’s Cross mainline stations.

From King’s Cross St Pancras, take the Victoria line (Southbound) to Vauxhall. The journey will take an estimated 13 minutes over one line. Return: Take Victoria line (Northbound) to King’s Cross St Pancras.

BY TUBE

From the subway next to Vauxhall rail and underground station, take tube exit 1, cross the road and pass the Secret Intelligence Service (MI6) building. Our office (Camelford House, 5th floor, 89 Albert Embankment) is in the next building along.
