Matt is one of the lead researchers on the Minimum Income Standard (MIS) for the UK programme of research.

Matt currently leads on quantitative analysis within MIS, but also plays a key role in fieldwork and other elements of the research. He has produced the annual Households below a Minimum Income Standard for the Joseph Rowntree Foundation since 2013, and has also led work on a MIS for London. Most recently he has been developing MIS-related work in Mexico and South Africa.

In addition to MIS, his policy analysis and research has included work on housing affordability, place, poverty measurement and international conceptions of living standards.
