Over the last 20 years the pensioner poverty rate fell substantially, while the poverty rate for working-age adults without children steadily increased. For working-age adults with children, the poverty rate has been edging up since 2004/05 after gradually declining in the previous 10 years. However, for the first time since 2011/12, their poverty rate declined in the latest available data.
