It is based on discussions with older people’s organisations and older people who are already actively involved, and draws on UK and international schemes and experience of involvement in a wide range of other fields. It gives a brief guide to different forms of participation so that older people and their organisations can:
- be as well-informed as possible about the strengths and weaknesses of different models and approaches;
- have a clearer idea of what they might be letting themselves in for when they get involved through any one of them;
- choose the approach that best suits their requirements.
