As a part of the Foundation's major programme of research into housing and the national economy, Geoff Meen of Reading University explores the nature of interactions between housing and the rest of the economy using the Joseph Rowntree Housing Model and shows how they have changed during the eighties and nineties.

These interactions have become more complex, particularly since the mid eighties, and the failure to understand them has been responsible for major policy errors over the last decade.
