A study of the views and experiences of young people being looked after by relatives or friends with the knowledge of social services.
There is a limited choice of social services placements for young people and, especially, a shortage of foster placements. For some young people 'kinship care' may be another, and more effective, way of both being cared for and preserving families. This accessible report asks young people aged between 13 and 21 about their experiences of kinship care. It also gets the views of their carers and social workers on how best young people and their kinship carers can be supported.
