Maintaining children in school: The contribution of social services departments
Jeni Vernon and Ruth Sinclair
The 1990s have seen increasing concern about the numbers of children and young people being excluded from school.
This report explores what social services departments might do to help children stay in school. Drawing on a national survey of social services departments, it looks at what members and officers in both social services and local education authorities, school personnel, children and parents found of value in a social work approach.
