This Sourcebook encourages communities to plan effectively for their future. A practical source of ideas and suggestions, it is designed to help local people think through issues. Intended as a framework for action, it covers all stages of the process, including: getting started; establishing a steering group; preparing a plan; developing a local organisation; and finding the resources to make plans happen.

The Re:sourcebook has been written to support community leaders involved in grass roots planning, regeneration and economic development. It also offers guidance to those working with the community, including local authority officers, agency staff, consultants, volunteers and community agents The Re:sourcebook was researched and written by Alan Caldwell for the South West of England Regional Development Agency and the Joseph Rowntree Foundation.
