Where to turn? Family support for South Asian communities

Tarek Qureshi, David Berridge and Helen Wenman

There is growing emphasis on providing support for children and parents at risk of family breakdown.

However, it is known that social services for minority ethnic groups are inadequate; in particular, few South Asian families use support services. It investigates South Asian parents' knowledge of and attitudes towards social work and family support services and explores managers', team leaders' and social workers' perceptions of problems and deficiencies in services.
