Why Poverty? - Camden Calling

Posted on29th Jan 2013

In Camden, a unique scheme is bringing together homeless, ex-homeless and vulnerable people to form a music collective.

As member Dekay says, it’s all part of “taking the stairs one step at a time”

There are 3,000 rough sleepers on streets of London each year. This film challenges media stereotypes of homelessness, showing the human stories behind the figures and highlighting how poverty can affect everyone.

“Being part of something is great,” says Alan, a member of the collective who found himself homeless after 11 months on remand.
