Our events
Tackling the drivers of hunger and hardship — a liberal approach to reforming our social security system. In partnership with Trussell.
Time and location
Sunday 20 September, 1.45pm–2.45pm
Room 1A, Brighton Centre
From ill health, an expensive private rented sector, and a lack of good jobs locally, our social security system is put under pressure from failures elsewhere. Join JRF, Trussell, and Liberal Democrats to hear how focusing on these root causes can help build a fairer, sustainable future, and an alternative to blunt cuts.
Adult Social Care: How the Liberal Democrats Can Deliver Once-in-a-Generation Reform
Time and location
Monday 21 September, 6.15pm–7.15pm
Room 1A, Brighton Centre (Secure Zone)
At its best, social care keeps people independent and living well. But costs are staggering and arbitrary, falling hardest on those with the highest needs while councils buckle under pressure. With the Casey Commission underway, the Liberal Democrats are uniquely placed to forge consensus. Join us to explore what a reimagined system looks like and how it can be delivered.
